黃冠鈞

1988年出生於臺灣彰化，現創作、生活於此。畢業於國立臺北藝術大學美術學系碩士班創作組，主修雕塑；並於2020年取得日本京都藝術大學藝術創作博士學位。

其創作橫跨繪畫、雕塑、纖維染織與平面設計等多項領域。創作以壓克力顏料為主要媒材，突破顏料依附於畫布或紙張等平面的慣例，跳脫藝術史與學院框架，從色彩物質化的視角切入，在繪畫上提出「滲透、附著、繪畫體」三種型態，重新探討繪畫的本質。

以玻璃作為乘載顏料的平臺，在其之上層層塗疊，乾燥後與其分離，得到獨立存在的物質結構——即「繪畫體」。最後經由接合、折疊等手法，使作品在空間中結合光線，建構出兼具繪畫、雕塑與裝置特質的感性場域。

作品榮獲中國信託第三屆當代繪畫獎優選．典藏肯定(2025)；亦曾受邀於㮣藝術、十方藝術、潮時藝術、安卓藝術與臺北市立美術館「物質世界」（2026）等專業空間展出。

 

Huang Kuan Chun

Born in Changhua, Taiwan, in 1988, Huang Kuan Chun currently lives and works there. He received his MFA in Fine Arts, with a specialization in sculpture, from Taipei National University of the Arts, and earned his PhD in Art from Kyoto University of the Arts, Japan, in 2020.

Huang’s practice spans painting, sculpture, fiber and textile art, and graphic design. Working primarily with acrylic paint, he challenges the convention of paint as a medium bound to flat surfaces such as canvas or paper. Moving beyond established art-historical and academic frameworks, he approaches painting through the materialization of color and proposes three modes—“permeation,” “adhesion,” and “painting-body”—as a means of reconsidering the fundamental nature of painting.

Using glass as a surface on which layers of acrylic paint are applied, Huang allows the paint to dry before separating it from the glass, creating an autonomous material structure—a “painting-body.” Through processes such as joining and folding, these painting-bodies extend into space and interact with light, creating sensorial environments that bring together the qualities of painting, sculpture, and installation.

Huang received a Merit Prize at the 3rd CTBC Painting Prize in 2025, with his work entering the permanent collection of the CTBC Foundation for Arts and Culture. His work has also been presented at professional art spaces including Gai Art, GALERIE OVO, LIN ART PROJECTS, Mind Set Art Center, and the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, where it was featured in Material World (2026).
